Westside Sporting Grounds is a private sporting clays club, located on over 167 beautifully wooded acres, just west of Houston Texas.

Throwing a clay target is relatively easy. Creating an inviting ambiance is much more challenging. The property is picturesque with abundant native live oak trees and shaded glades. Members at Westside experience not only a great practice range but also socialize at the clubhouse, entertain large groups in the big barn or just enjoy a beautiful sunset evening around the fire-pit.

Westside offers its members: sporting clays, two ZZ rings, a 5-Stand layout, an automatic ball trap layout and a FITASC layout.

Westside Shooting Academy now has 14 resident instructors on staff. Beginning and novice shooters may be comfortably introduced to the exciting game of sporting clays at Westside. The Westside instructors will have beginners amazed at how quickly they will be breaking targets and hooked on this fun new hobby.

Sporting Clays - The Club caters to its members with a wide variety of challenging and real hunting simulated clay bird presentations on the sporting clay course. The course is set for the shotgun sportsman who wants to have fun. You will find three “dove” towers, and the 126-foot “tall” tower amongst a backdrop of beautiful huge oak trees. The station shooting cages are positioned approximately 35 yards from break points, but, members are encouraged to try targets from different angles and distances outside the cages making a larger variety of presentations and the “best practice course in the area.”

5-Stand – There is a six target 5-Stand sporting layout utilizing two of Westside's towers. It’s a great place to see a variety of targets in a compact space with two to five shooters playing at a time. The Ball Trap is great practice for individuals or five at a time. The trap is “wobbling, left, right and up and down, its great fun and keeps you on your toes.

Most days you will find a FITASC layout at Westside. The layout is excellent practice for sporting clay tournament shooters that like to practice longer distance shots.

ZZ’s are a great challenge for any shotgunning enthusiast. The little plastic flying disc could go anywhere, but for points, must land in the ring. ZZ's are a club within a club - most of Westside's ZZ shooters shoot the old beautiful Side by Side guns. Westside even has an annual competition called The Adam's Cup, which allows its members the opportunity to utilize those treasured firearms in a friendly competition.
